Andy López Beltrán starts house‑to‑house tour in Tabasco for 2027 race
Andy López Beltrán, son of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, began a series of house‑to‑house visits across the 170 electoral sections of Federal District VI in Tabasco. The tour aims to introduce his political project and to position him as a candidate for a seat in the Chamber of Deputies in the 2027 federal elections. He visited communities in the municipalities of Tacotalpa (Guayal), Teapa (Manuel Buelta and Rayón), Centro (Tamulté de las Barrancas), and Jalapa (Astapa), among others.
Morena’s national president Ariadna Montiel defended the activities, stating that López Beltrán is acting as a national adviser and that the visits are part of legitimate party organization and a fight against disinformation. State leader Jesús Selván García and other party officials echoed this view, saying the actions are not campaign propaganda but routine internal work.
Opposition parties and some observers have labeled the tour a possible violation of electoral law, urging the National Electoral Institute (INE) to examine whether the visits constitute premature campaigning. The INE has not opened a formal investigation. Morena also announced it will allow the re‑election of federal deputies in the 2027 election, as permitted by law.
