Andy Warhol exhibition to open in Ferrara

The city of Ferrara will host a major exhibition of Andy Warhol’s work titled ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ at the Palazzo dei Diamanti from March 14 to July 19, 2026. Organized by the Fondazione Ferrara Arte and the Municipal Service of Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries, the event is supported by the Warhol Museum of Pittsburgh.

The exhibition features over 150 portraits, including acrylics, drawings, silkscreens, and Polaroids. It highlights the ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ series, which originally focused on marginalized identities, such as Afro and Latin American drag queens, to redefine contemporary portraiture. The collection also includes iconic works from the 1960s through the 1980s, featuring subjects such as Marilyn Monroe, Mao Tse-Tung, Mick Jagger, Liza Minnelli, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Grace Jones.
