Andy Win wins Grand National Steeplechase at Ballarat
Andy Win, trained by Shane Jackson and ridden by jockey Tom Ryan, secured a dominant 12-length victory in the 2026 Grand National Steeplechase at Ballarat. This win marks a historic achievement, as the horse has completed the Grand National Hurdle and Grand National Steeplechase double, a feat accomplished only three times in nearly a century.
The victory followed a stressful week for the team, as the horse suffered a foot abscess in the days leading up to the race. Trainer Shane Jackson described the period as a ‘rollercoaster’, noting that the injury was kept confidential from the jockey until after the successful performance.
This achievement places Andy Win alongside previous double winners such as Tallyho Twinkletoe in 2019 and Mosstrooper in 1930.
