Former Reading captain Andy Yiadom has signed a five-month contract with AFC Wimbledon, keeping the 34-year-old defender at the club until January 2027. The Ghana international joins the League One side following his release from Reading at the end of last season.

Yiadom, who made over 250 appearances for Reading and served as club captain, has been training with Wimbledon for several weeks. Manager Johnnie Jackson noted that Yiadom has impressed during training and will provide much-needed leadership and defensive depth to the squad.

The move sets up a potential immediate reunion for Yiadom, as Wimbledon is scheduled to host Reading at Plough Lane this Saturday for Reading’s first away game of the 2026/27 campaign.
