Anže Grmek wins 2026 Slovenian Speedway Championship

Anže Grmek has become the 2026 Slovenian Individual Speedway Champion, ending Matic Ivačič’s six-year period of dominance. Grmek secured the title after accumulating 33 points across two rounds, with the final round held in Lendava.

The championship finale in Lendava was marked by technical difficulties, as the track conditions led to frequent interruptions and extended the event to four and a half hours. Only six of the 22 heats were completed with a full field of riders due to the surface state.

Sven Cerjak won the Lendava round, finishing ahead of Grmek in the final. Ivačič, who had won every championship since 2020, struggled after an exclusion in the heats and a motorcycle defect during the repechage, ultimately finishing with the silver medal. Cerjak took the bronze for the overall championship.
