Anže Logar targets Ljubljana mayoral race and upcoming local elections

Anže Logar, leader of the Democrats party, has identified the upcoming local elections as the most significant electoral challenge for his party over the next two years. During a party meeting in Ločica pri Polzeli, Logar emphasized the party's growing responsibility following its entry into parliament, noting its control over three ministries and a 46-vote parliamentary group.

Logar also predicted a political battle centered on referendums this autumn, which he described as a struggle between ‘healthy reason and political stupidity.’ The party plans to introduce reforms, administrative relief, and measures to improve the economic environment.

Regarding the Ljubljana mayoral race, Logar expressed the desire for a strong candidate capable of ending Zoran Janković’s 20-year rule. Reports suggest that Senko Pličanič may be a potential candidate for the Democrats in the Ljubljana mayoral contest, following ongoing discussions with coalition partners.
