ANEI visits Mittelbau-Dora memorial to honor Italian internees

The National Association of Italian Military Internees (ANEI) conducted an institutional visit to the Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp memorial in Germany on September 8, 2026. Accompanied by Memorial Director Andreas Froese, the ANEI President visited sites of historical significance, including the location where seven Italian Military Internees were executed in December 1943.

The visit served to honor the memory of those seven individuals and the approximately 50,000 Italian Military Internees who died during their captivity. The delegation also visited the crematorium area to pay respects. Additionally, ANEI and the memorial director held a working meeting to discuss the upcoming organization of a historical exhibition by the association.
