Anežka Rusevová discusses family heritage and image changes

Czech actress Anežka Rusevová, known for her long-running role as Vendula in the series Ulice, has shared details regarding her family heritage and personal transformations.

Rusevová revealed that her paternal grandfather, Atanas Rusev, was a gynecologist and occasional poet from Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, who moved to Czechoslovakia in the 1930s. While she has Bulgarian roots on her father's side and Italian ancestry on her mother's side, she has never visited Bulgaria and does not speak the language. She expressed a desire to visit the country in the future.

Regarding her professional life, Rusevová discussed her departure from the series Ulice in 2024, noting that the creators decided to conclude her character's storyline. She also opened up about undergoing significant changes to her physical appearance. She explained that these changes were driven by a desire to feel more like herself and to overcome professional limitations where she felt her previous look restricted the types of roles available to her.
