ANEM reports threats to Serbian journalists and financial crisis at Radio Sloboda Kraljevo

The Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM) has reported an increase in threats and targeting of local journalists in Serbia. Several reporters have faced harassment on social media and in tabloids following critical reporting on social and state issues. Specific cases include Žarko Bogosavljević of Razglas News, Dragan Todorović of eStvarnost, and activist Veselin Petrović, who faced orchestrated online attacks and physical targeting after reporting on illegal waste dumping.

Simultaneously, Radio Sloboda Kraljevo is facing financial instability. A fundraising campaign led by ANEM and the station has raised over 541,000 dinars from 61 donors to cover essential costs such as electricity, streaming, and rent. Despite this support, the station's survival remains at risk, as it requires approximately 400,000 dinars monthly to operate regularly. ANEM noted that the station has not received support from the City of Kraljevo or the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications.
