ANEP and CND to build 50 new educational and sports centers

The National Administration of Public Education (ANEP) and the National Development Corporation (CND) have signed an agreement to construct 50 new educational and sports centers in Uruguay. The project involves an estimated investment of $88 million through a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.

The initiative is part of ANEP’s five-year infrastructure maintenance program, which has a total budget of $350 million. The new facilities will include full-time schools, high schools, technical schools, and multi-sport centers. According to the agreement, 22 centers are expected to be available by 2028, while the remaining 28 are scheduled for 2029.

CND President Mario Piacenza stated that the corporation will provide financial viability for 22 centers, requiring approximately $32 million. For the other 28 centers, which will cost an estimated $56 million, the CND will be responsible for preparing the bidding documents, expected to be ready in the first quarter of 2027.
