Anesthesiologists strike suspends non-emergency surgeries in Salta
Anesthesiologists in Salta, Argentina, have suspended all non-emergency surgical procedures in public hospitals due to delayed payments from the Ministry of Health. The strike, organized by the Salta Association of Anesthesia and Resuscitation, affects various provincial hospitals, including those in Tartagal and Orán.
At the Juan Domingo Perón Hospital in Tartagal, emergency services such as cesarean sections and accident-related surgeries remain operational. Hospital manager Pedro Urueña noted that while there have been delays, urgent cases are still being covered. The Ministry of Health has reportedly begun releasing owed funds, and officials are awaiting a meeting with the association to discuss the potential resumption of normal surgical services.
