Anette Olzon Returns to Perform Nightwish Songs on European Tour
Former Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon announced that she will include Nightwish material in her solo tour, beginning with the European leg after a South American showcase that ended in late 2025. Olzon said the decision came after years of bitterness following her dismissal from Nightwish in the autumn of 2012, and she now feels she has the right to sing the songs she originally recorded.
During her five‑year stint with Nightwish, Olzon contributed to the albums Dark Passion Play (2007) and Imaginaerum (2011) before being replaced by Floor Jansen. Since leaving the band, she has released three solo albums, collaborated with musicians such as Magnus Karlsson and Russell Allen, and appeared at Finland’s Kaaos Festival in July 2026 just before the European tour kickoff.
Olzon also revealed she sent a courtesy email to Nightwish composer Tuomas Holopainen to inform him of the upcoming performances, but she did not receive a reply. She emphasized that, despite comparisons with former and current singers, she remains the original vocalist of those songs and therefore has the right to perform them.
