Anfi Challenge Mogán-Gran Canaria prepares for SwimRun event and 2027 format change

The second edition of the SwimRun Anfi Gran Canaria Mogán is scheduled for Saturday, September 5. This continuous running and swimming event serves as the Spanish and Canary Islands SwimRun Championships. The course covers 9.1 kilometers, consisting of 2.6 kilometers of swimming and 6.5 kilometers of running across seven running segments and six aquatic segments. Participants have a total time limit of 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Looking toward future developments, the Anfi Challenge Mogán-Gran Canaria has announced a new race format for 2027. The event will transition to a two-day format to separate age group and professional athletes. Under this new structure, age group competitions will occur on Saturday, April 17, while professional races will take place on Sunday, April 18. This change aims to improve racing conditions, safety, and fairness, including the implementation of a 20-meter drafting rule for professionals.
