San Marcos de Arica faces ANFP complaint over financial irregularities

The Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Profesional (ANFP) has filed a formal complaint against San Marcos de Arica before the Disciplinary Tribunal due to alleged financial irregularities. The investigation focuses on significant discrepancies between the club's financial reports.

According to the ANFP, the club declared a working capital of $82,261,000 in its sworn statement for the first quarter of 2026. However, official balances submitted to the Comisión para el Mercado Financiero (CMF) as of December 31, 2025, showed a negative net equity of $2,909,444,000. Additionally, the club reported liabilities of $887,285,000 in early 2026, a sharp contrast to the $3,822,068,000 reported at the end of 2025.

The ANFP stated that unless the club provides documented evidence of a capital increase, debt forgiveness, or a formal corporate restructuring to explain these shifts, the information may be considered false. San Marcos de Arica faces severe potential sanctions, including automatic relegation or complete disaffiliation from professional football.
