Angad Cheema leads Telangana Open after career-low 61

Angad Cheema has taken a two-shot lead at the Telangana Open after recording a career-low, bogey-free 11-under 61 in the second round. The Chandigarh-based golfer currently sits at 13-under 131.

Cheema’s performance included five consecutive birdies and a chip-in eagle on the par-five 12th hole. He follows an opening round of 70. Rashid Khan of Delhi is in second place at 11-under 133, having carded a five-under 67 that featured two eagles. Hyderabad’s 19-year-old Vishesh Sharma holds third place at 10-under 134.

The tournament began with Akshay Sharma and Manu Gandas sharing the lead after the first round with matching seven-under 65s. The cut for the event was set at one-under 143, with 50 players advancing to the final rounds.
