Angel and the Badman remake released by Angel Studios

Angel Studios has released Angel and the Badman, a remake of the 1947 John Wayne Western. Directed by Julio Quintana, the film stars Zachary Levi as the wounded gunslinger Quirt Evans. The story follows Evans as he is taken in by a family, including Penny, played by Meg Fraser, who introduces him to a more peaceful, faith-based lifestyle.

The plot involves a conflict with a villainous gunman, Laredo Stevens, played by Neal McDonough, who is pursuing Confederate gold. Tommy Lee Jones appears as the lawman, Marshal McClintock, who is tracking Evans. While the remake follows the structure of the original film closely, it introduces changes such as a more intense opening gunfight and a plot centered on gold rather than cattle or land claims.
