Angel City FC defeats Seattle Reign 3-1 in NWSL match

Angel City FC defeated the Seattle Reign 3-1 in a National Women's Soccer League match held in Los Angeles. Ally Sentnor opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 18th minute following a handball by Angharad James-Turner. Ary Borges doubled the lead in the 40th minute with a header from an Evelyn Shores corner kick. Taylor Suarez extended the lead to 3-0 in the 81st minute shortly after entering the game. Sofia Huerta scored a stoppage-time goal for the Reign.

With this victory, Angel City (10-8-6) remains unbeaten in four matches and sits just one point behind Seattle (11-9-4) for the final playoff position. The defeat ended a three-game winning streak for the Reign.

In other NWSL action, Bay FC earned a 2-2 draw against the Denver Summit. Despite trailing 2-0 following goals from Lindsey Heaps and Janine Sonis, Bay FC recovered with late goals from Claire Hutton and Taylor Huff.
