Angel Di María stays home for Argentina-Spain World Cup final

Former Argentine winger Ángel Di María said he will not travel to New Jersey for the 2026 World Cup final between Argentina and Spain, opting to watch the match from his home in Argentina. He dismissed rumors about attending the trophy ceremony at MetLife Stadium, stating, “No fui y no voy a ir. Mufa no quiero ser,” and cited a superstition about bad luck.

In an interview with journalist Yanina Latorre after leaving the Lola Membrives theatre, Di María explained that he feels the same nerves and anxiety as ordinary citizens and will support the team from his living room. He also mentioned maintaining daily contact with Lionel Messi and expressed confidence in the younger squad that reached the final.
