Angel Reese reflects on Atlanta Dream WNBA Finals loss
Angel Reese has shared her reflections following the Atlanta Dream’s loss to the Golden State Valkyries in Game 7 of the WNBA Finals. The Dream lost the deciding game 68-63, failing to secure the franchise’s first championship after previously holding a 2-1 lead in the series.
Reese, who was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year, recorded eight points and 12 rebounds in the final game. During the series, she made history as the youngest player to record 30+ points and 15+ rebounds in a Finals game and became the first player to record a double-double in each of her first three career Finals games.
In a social media post, Reese described the experience as “delayed, not denied,” expressing pride in the team’s accomplishments despite the defeat. She announced plans to spend the offseason focusing on rest and personal reflection, which includes pausing her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” and spending time in Florida.
