Angel Reese sets WNBA record in Atlanta Dream victory

Angel Reese recorded 30 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Atlanta Dream to a 103-59 victory over the Connecticut Sun. The performance marked Reese’s 30th double-double of the season, setting a new WNBA record.

Following a nearly three-week break for the FIBA World Cup, the Dream dominated the second half, outscoring the Sun 31-11 in the third quarter and 27-13 in the fourth. In addition to Reese’s scoring, Rhyne Howard set a WNBA season record with 129 career three-pointers by making one attempt during the game. Allisha Gray also contributed 10 points, breaking her own franchise record for points in a single season with 782.

The Atlanta Dream move to a 27-14 record, placing them fourth in the WNBA standings and within a half-game of the third-seeded Las Vegas Aces. Meanwhile, the Connecticut Sun fall to 10-31.
