Angel Reese sets WNBA single-season double-double record

Angel Reese has set a new WNBA single-season record by recording her 29th double-double, surpassing the previous mark of 28 held by Alyssa Thomas. The milestone occurred during the Atlanta Dream’s 89-81 victory over the Minnesota Lynx.

During the game, Reese contributed 15 points and 11 rebounds. The win moves the Atlanta Dream to a 26-14 record, tying them with Indiana for fourth place, while the Minnesota Lynx remain at 31-9. The matchup also featured the debut of DeWanna Bonner for Atlanta, who scored seven points following her arrival from the Phoenix Mercury.

Reese’s historic season has included several other milestones, including setting new league records for most rebounds in a single game and a single season. Her performance comes as the WNBA enters a break for the FIBA World Cup.
