Alghero’s Calich Bridge Reopened After Year‑Long ANAS Project

The Calich I bridge on the SS 291 in Alghero was reopened after a twelve‑month construction period funded with €5.3 million by ANAS. The work, started in July 2025, was completed on schedule without public ceremonies, a point highlighted by centre‑right councilors who praised the agency’s “lesson in concrete administration”.

Councilor Michele Pais (Lega) attended the inauguration with Mayor Cacciotto, noting that the bridge is a strategic link for Alghero, Fertilia and the airport. He announced further ANAS projects on the same road, including full illumination from the airport to Fertilia and a new roundabout at the Fertilia entrance, funded by the Ministry of Infrastructure under Minister Matteo Salvini. The officials stressed that the bridge’s completion follows a broader effort to upgrade Sardinia’s road network, such as the four‑lane Alghero‑Sassari highway.
