Angela Gerekou shares family history and celebrates daughter's birthday

Actress Angela Gerekou has shared personal family stories and celebrated the 25th birthday of her daughter, Maria Voskopoulou, via social media.

In a series of emotional posts, Gerekou recounted the origin of the name of her late partner, the renowned singer Tolis Voskopoulos. She revealed that his father, Charalambos, made a religious vow at a church dedicated to Apostle Neos in Pelion, praying for a son. When a boy was born, he was named after the saint. Gerekou also noted that despite his father's profession as a merchant, Voskopoulos pursued acting with his father's support.

Gerekou also marked Maria Voskopoulou's birthday and name day, which both fall on August 15. The celebration included family and friends, and Gerekou shared nostalgic memories of summers spent in Corfu. She noted that the late singer often referred to Maria as the ‘child of the Panagia’ due to her birth date.
