Angelalign responds to Paris court patent ruling
Angelalign Technology Inc. announced that a ruling by the Paris Local Division of the Unified Patent Court regarding its ‘Torque Ridges’ feature will have minimal impact on its European customers. The court ruled that the Torque Ridges feature infringes on a patent held by Align Technology Inc. related to repositioning teeth during orthodontic treatment.
Angelalign stated that it has already discontinued the Torque Ridges feature in Europe, replacing it with an upgraded technology called ‘Pressure Points’ which launched in the European market in September. The company noted that customers in Spain, the UK, and regions outside of Europe, including the Americas and Asia, are not affected by this ruling.
While Angelalign expressed disagreement with the decision and is evaluating its options, the company confirmed it will comply with the court’s ruling, including the return of any relevant products.
