Angeles National Park poachers arrested in California
Three individuals were arrested by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) following an illegal hunting investigation at Angeles National Park in Los Angeles County.
Acting on tips from the public, officers conducted nighttime patrols and observed two vehicles off-roading and using spotlights to illuminate the forest, a technique known as jacklighting. Upon stopping the vehicles, officers noted blood on the suspects' clothing and hands.
A subsequent search led to the discovery of firearms and two decapitated female deer concealed inside black trash bags. One deer had been completely skinned, while the other had been cut into four pieces. The suspects allegedly admitted to the illegal killings and attempts to hide the evidence. All three were arrested and subsequently released with the agreement to appear in court.
