Angelica Perri wins the 2026 Andrea Parodi Award

Singer-songwriter Angelica Perri has won the 19th edition of the Andrea Parodi Award, a prestigious world music competition held at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari, Italy. Perri, originally from Rogliano, also received the Critics' Prize and an international jury mention for her song ‘Licange’, featured on her debut album ‘Polimorfe – Canzoni per chi cambia forma’.

The winning track, which incorporates Rogliano dialect and traditional choral elements, addresses themes of censorship, freedom of expression, and the rejection of war. Perri performed alongside a musical ensemble from the Cosenza province, including Diego Soda, Federica Greco, Paolo Presta, and Giovanni Reale.

The competition took place from October 15 to 17, marking the 20th anniversary of the passing of Sardinian musician Andrea Parodi. Other notable recognitions during the event included the Bianca d’Aponte International Prize awarded to Koyel Basu and the Albo d’oro 2026 award presented to trumpeter Paolo Fresu.
