Angelina Jolie Rejects Brad Pitt's Request for Tax Records in Ongoing Divorce Battle

In a Los Angeles Superior Court filing, Angelina Jolie asked the judge to deny Brad Pitt’s motion seeking her personal tax returns and other financial documents for the years 2017‑2019. Jolie’s lawyers argue that producing those records would invade her privacy and that she has already supplied tax filings for 2020‑2021 voluntarily.

Pitt’s request is tied to their protracted divorce case, which also involves a dispute over ownership of the Château Miraval vineyard in France. Pitt alleges Jolie sold her share of the winery to Russian billionaire Yuri Shefler without his consent, violating their agreement. Jolie contends the sale was intended to achieve financial independence from Pitt and does not indicate financial distress.

Both parties accuse each other of mischaracterising statements made in prior filings, with Pitt claiming Jolie’s comments about “financial vulnerability” warrant scrutiny, while Jolie maintains she merely sought to separate her finances from her ex‑husband.
