Angelina Jolie says she will leave the United States after twins turn 18
Actress Angelina Jolie announced she is prepared to relocate from the United States now that her youngest twins, Knox and Vivienne, turned 18 on July 12. Sources told People Magazine that Jolie, 51, is “ready” to give her six children more freedom and to “experience the world” away from Los Angeles, a desire she has expressed for years because of her custody arrangement following her divorce from Brad Pitt, which was finalized in December 2024.
Jolie’s other children—Maddox (24), Pax (22), Zahara (21) and Shiloh (20)—are also now adults. The twins’ milestone has prompted public statements from the actress about moving abroad, and her older children have even placed newspaper ads dropping Pitt’s surname. Jolie reiterated her sentiment in a September 2025 interview, saying she loves America but “doesn’t recognize my country” at this time, emphasizing her wish for personal freedom.
The planned departure is framed as a family‑centred decision rather than a political statement, reflecting Jolie’s long‑standing priority of her children’s welfare.
