Angelina Vučić attacked in Belgrade near Kalenić market

Angelina Vučić, the 82-year-old mother of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, was verbally and physically attacked in Belgrade on October 25, 2026. The incident occurred near the Kalenić market shortly after she had cast her vote in the early parliamentary elections.

According to the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), a group of younger men, described as having political affiliations with protesters, pushed Ms. Vučić, shouted at her, and tore the grocery bags she was carrying. Reports indicate that during the altercation, one individual grabbed her bag and caused an injury to her hand.

Police have arrested a 28-year-old suspect, identified as N. M., on suspicion of robbery. The suspect has been detained for 48 hours pending a hearing by the prosecutor's office. The SNS has condemned the act as an unacceptable form of aggression and intimidation, calling for an immediate and decisive reaction from the authorities.
