Angelique Kerber wins second consecutive Luxembourg Ladies Tennis Masters title

Angelique Kerber has become the first player to win the Luxembourg Ladies Tennis Masters twice, securing her second consecutive title. The former World No. 1 defeated Belgium’s Yanina Wickmayer in the final with a score of 6-4, 6-2 at the Coque arena.

During the championship, Kerber overcame several notable former players, including Monica Puig in the quarterfinals and Agnieszka Radwanska in the semifinals. Wickmayer, who recently returned to the court after retiring in the summer of 2025, reached the final after winning two difficult match tiebreaks.

Kerber received her trophy from Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden. Following her victory, Kerber noted the significance of the event for veteran players and mothers returning to competition, stating that the energy of the full stands makes the tournament special.
