Angelo Mellone discusses Rai programming and new theatrical return

Angelo Mellone, Rai's Director of Day Time Entertainment, has announced his return to the stage with the play ‘Ripetizioni d’amore’, scheduled for November 5 and 6 at the Teatro Golden in Rome.

In recent remarks, Mellone addressed the future of the program ‘Domenica In’, stating he has proposals for a completely new format should Mara Venier depart the show. He also defended various Rai productions, noting the high viewership of ‘Linea Verde’ and the success of ‘Camper’ despite internal obstacles.

Mellone also discussed his upcoming novel, set in Naples, a city he has known for nearly 35 years. He reflected on the social dynamics of the city, including the effects of gentrification and overtourism, and explored themes of love and generational shifts in his creative work.
