Anglican Diocese of Lagos Mainland marks 20th anniversary
The Anglican Diocese of Lagos Mainland is celebrating its 20th anniversary through a four-day synod and the release of a historical book. The synod, themed ‘Thus far has the Lord helped us’, includes a Eucharistic service at the Cathedral Church of St. Jude, Ebute Meta, and business sessions to deliberate on issues facing the church and society.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the diocese unveiled a new book titled ‘The Church Is Marching On’ at the MUSON Centre in Lagos. The publication documents the history, structure, and development of the Anglican Church. During the book review, journalist Dr. Reuben Abati highlighted the work’s focus on organizational structure, governance, and the roles of women and youth in sustaining the church’s identity.
