Anglo American initiative transforms Chilean student education

The Modelo Pionero initiative, driven by Anglo American, is working to transform the educational experience in Chile's Metropolitan and Valparaíso regions. The program aims to place students at the center of learning by linking school curricula with local environmental and technological challenges.

Currently reaching 46 establishments across nine communes and approximately 20,000 students, the program saw the development of 226 projects in 2024 covering fields such as science, technology, health, and citizenship. A recent Technological Leaders Meeting allowed students to teach teachers how to use digital fabrication tools and machinery.
