Anglo American sustains 2026 copper output forecast, cites Quellaveco production

Anglo American reported that its Quellaveco mine in Peru delivered 75,000 tonnes of copper in the second quarter of 2026, a 2 % increase over the previous quarter and confirming the mine’s role as a stable pillar of the company’s portfolio amid a broad corporate restructuring that emphasizes copper.

For the same quarter the group’s total copper output reached 173,200 tonnes, matching the prior‑year period, with Chile’s production rising 2 % to 98,200 tonnes while Peru’s fell. Anglo American kept its 2026 copper production target of 700,000‑760,000 tonnes unchanged and cut its unit‑cost forecast to below $145 per pound, reflecting lower expected costs of about 210 cents per pound in Chile and 65 cents per pound in Peru.
