Angol arson attack destroys four forestry machines

An arson attack at the El Carmen estate in the Chihuaihue sector of Angol destroyed four pieces of forestry machinery belonging to the company CMPC. The incident occurred on the night of Tuesday, October 13, in the La Araucanía Region.

The Chilean Wood Corporation (Corma) condemned the attack, describing it as a direct challenge to state authority and expressing concern over the impact on local labor operations. Senator Miguel Ángel Becker also denounced the act, calling for increased territorial control by the government, the Armed Forces, and Carabineros in the Malleco Province.

No workers were injured during the attack. The Public Prosecutor's Office has instructed the Labocar and OS9 units of the Carabineros to conduct the investigation to identify those responsible.
