Angola and Portugal highlight tourism potential at WTM London

At the World Travel Market (WTM) in London, Angola and Portugal are leveraging international platforms to promote their tourism sectors.

Angola is seeking to attract British tour operators and integrate national products into international commercial circuits. A delegation of approximately ten national operators is presenting tourism packages and investment opportunities related to Angola’s natural, cultural, and historical heritage. The initiative aims to diversify the origins of international visitors and establish commercial partnerships with international professionals.

Meanwhile, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Tourism, Pedro Machado, noted that geopolitical instability in regions such as the Middle East has shifted market focus toward more stable destinations. Machado highlighted Portugal’s safety ranking and its ability to attract major international events, including Formula 1 and MotoGP, scheduled for 2027. He also addressed recent challenges, such as airport delays caused by the European Union’s Entry/Exit System (EES), noting efforts to mitigate their impact on the country’s image.
