Angola approves 40 billion kwanzas for Luanda infrastructure projects

The Luanda Provincial Government has been authorized to receive 40 billion kwanzas in financing to implement structural projects across eight key sectors. These priority areas include health, education, energy, water, urban planning, infrastructure, sports, tourism, and public security.

The financing agreement is between the Republic of Angola, represented by the Ministry of Finance, and Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA). According to Presidential Decree No. 405/26, the Minister of Finance has been delegated the authority to negotiate and sign the necessary documentation to finalize the operation.

While the decree facilitates the mobilization of public investment resources for the capital, it does not specify the exact distribution of funds among the sectors or the specific timelines for project execution.
