Angola expels Guinean citizen over illegal metal trade

A 39-year-old Guinean citizen has been sentenced and ordered to be expelled from Angola for illegal involvement in the weighing and commercialization of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The individual was arrested on August 24 by the Department of Criminal Offense Investigation (DIIP) for repeatedly violating Presidential Decree No. 7/26, which prohibits such activities.

The court converted a one-year prison sentence into a fine of two million kwanzas, plus a hundred thousand kwanzas in judicial fees. Following the ruling, the individual was transferred to the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) detention center to await deportation. Authorities stated that this decision underscores the importance of cooperation between criminal investigators and judicial bodies in combating illicit trade and enforcing regulations regarding metal materials.
