Angola promotes cultural sector through new art exhibition and economic expo
Angola is launching new initiatives to promote its cultural sector as both an artistic celebration and an economic driver. The ELA – Espaço Luanda Arte is presenting the second edition of the “Luzes de Angola” collective exhibition. The showcase features a wide range of contemporary artists, spanning over five decades of creation since national independence, aiming to bridge the gap between established pioneers and emerging talents.
In a separate development, the first edition of Expo Cultura Angola 2026 was officially launched in Luanda. Organized by the Ministry of Culture in partnership with Grupo Arena, the event is scheduled for November 5–8. The initiative seeks to transform the cultural sector into a strategic tool for job creation, innovation, and GDP contribution through the professionalization of creative industries. While cultural associations have raised questions regarding investment transparency and financial returns for participants, organizers maintain that the fair will serve as a platform for business and economic diversification.
