Angola signs strategic transport and electric mobility agreements

During the Angola Hub Transporte e Logística Summit 2026, the Angolan Ministry of Transport signed several strategic agreements aimed at modernizing infrastructure and promoting sustainable mobility.

A partnership with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) will provide advisory services to structure a public-private partnership for the development of the Malanje Corridor. This project focuses on the railway infrastructure between the Port of Luanda and Malanje to improve transport capacity and regional connectivity.

Additionally, a tripartite memorandum involving the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Angola and OPAIA Motors established the basis for the ‘ONDJILA GREEN’ program. The first phase of this initiative involves installing 2,000 electric chargers across the country. The Ministry also signed an agreement with Hemera Capital Partners to mobilize financing for transport and logistics projects.

Representing international interests, the Sines Business Association (AES) from Portugal participated in the summit to strengthen institutional ties. The association sought to identify cooperation opportunities in sectors including port activities, logistics, industry, and infrastructure to connect the Sines business ecosystem with the Angolan market.
