Angola wins 56 medals at MMA World Cup in Luanda

Angola secured a significant victory at the MMA World Cup, known as the ‘Angola Dipanda Open World Cup,’ held at the Arena do Kilamba in Luanda. The host nation earned a total of 56 medals across Senior and Junior categories, consisting of 18 gold, 24 silver, and 14 bronze.

In the Senior division specifically, Angolan athletes captured nine gold, 12 silver, and seven bronze medals. Notable individual champions included Bruno Capingala in the 70kg category, Georgino Futi in the 79kg category, and female champions Elizabeth Salvador (65kg) and Maria Liberal (61kg).

The international competition featured 258 athletes from various nations, including Brazil, South Africa, India, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. South Africa finished second in the overall medal standings, followed by India in third, the Republic of the Congo in fourth, and Zambia in fifth.
