Angolan Embassy in China commemorates National Hero Day

The Angolan Embassy in China held a ceremony in Beijing to commemorate National Hero Day, honoring the nation's founder, Dr. António Agostinho Neto. The event was attended by Chinese officials, including Sun Xueqin, vice-president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, as well as members of the diplomatic corps and the Angolan community.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Dalva Ringote Allen emphasized Angola's commitment to promoting peace, dialogue, and reconciliation across the African continent. She highlighted the country's use of preventive diplomacy and mediation to support regional stability, particularly within the Great Lakes Region. The Ambassador noted that these efforts align with President João Lourenço's stance of seeking African solutions to African challenges.

In addition to discussing regional security, Ambassador Allen touched upon Angola's domestic goals of economic diversification, institutional strengthening, and human capital development. She also announced the upcoming Luanda Biennial – Pan-African Forum for a Culture of Peace, scheduled for October in Luanda.
