Angolan political parties prepare for 2027 elections
Angolan political parties are intensifying preparations for the 2027 general elections. The Democratic Party for Progress and Angolan National Alliance (PDP-ANA) has scheduled its fourth convention for the 30th. This meeting will determine the party's electoral strategy and whether it will participate in the upcoming elections, according to Secretary-General João Pires Sumbo.
The PDP-ANA convention will involve the Central Committee, the Jurisdictional Council, and various youth and women's organizations. The party is also navigating internal discussions regarding leadership and organizational structure under current president Abreu Capitão Bernardo.
Meanwhile, the Angolan Renaissance Party-Together for Angola (PRA-JA) in Huíla province has announced its focus on securing victory in 2027. Provincial Secretary Zeferino Chiengo stated that the party is investing in cadre training both domestically and internationally, including sending youth representatives to China. PRA-JA aims to address social deficiencies in education and health as part of its political platform.
