Angolan refugee revalidates nursing diploma via Faetec

Adneia Chimuco, an Angolan refugee living in Brazil for ten years, has become the first person to complete the professional requalification process required to revalidate a foreign nursing technician diploma through Faetec in Rio de Janeiro.

The process was facilitated by the Coordination of Migration and Refugee Policies of the State Secretariat for Social Development and Human Rights (SEDSODH). To achieve this, Chimuco underwent selection, evaluation, and diagnostic stages, including theoretical and practical exams. She also completed necessary coursework in Brazilian healthcare standards, such as Unified Health System (SUS) legislation, Collective Health, and Mental Health, alongside a mandatory internship.

Following this achievement, Chimuco is preparing to pursue further nursing studies at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF).
