Angostura military confrontation leaves two dead and one detained

A confrontation between Mexican military personnel and armed civilians in Angostura, Sinaloa, resulted in two civilian deaths and one arrest on Friday, August 21.

The incident began when military elements pursued a vehicle, which reportedly lost control and crashed into a residence near the municipal baseball stadium on Macario Gaxiola Street. During the subsequent exchange of gunfire, two civilians were killed and one individual was detained.

Military forces reportedly seized weapons and suspected drugs from the vehicle. The area was cordoned off by security forces pending the arrival of the State Attorney General's Office to conduct legal proceedings and recover the bodies.
