Angoulême Film Festival honors Nathalie Baye

The Angoulême Francophone Film Festival is hosting a special program to honor the late French actress Nathalie Baye, who passed away in April. As part of the tribute, a square in Angoulême has been officially named Place Nathalie-Baye. The inauguration was led by her daughter, Laura Smet, alongside local officials.

The festival features a retrospective of Baye’s work, including eleven films such as Steven Spielberg’s ‘Catch Me If You Can’, and a photographic exhibition available until August 29.

Other highlights of the festival include the premiere of the film ‘Dix pour cent’, based on the successful French series, and the return of director Jean-Pierre Jeunet with ‘Changer l’eau des fleurs’. The opening film is ‘Ni vue, ni connue’, starring Isabelle Huppert and Sandrine Kiberlain. The festival awards, known as the Valois, will be presented on Saturday by a jury presided over by Franck Dubosc.
