Angoulême roadworks causing traffic navigation challenges

Ongoing construction projects in Angoulême are causing traffic navigation challenges and safety concerns at several intersections. At the L'Eperon roundabout, drivers are reportedly failing to follow proper circulation rules, leading to near-collisions. Local deputy mayor Guillaume Chupin noted that the removal of concrete dividers during network works has made the junction more prone to errors, though traffic signage has remained unchanged since the early 2000s.

Additionally, the roundabout at the Aguesseau ramp has been eliminated due to site constraints and new one-way traffic patterns, leading to changes in right-of-way priority for vehicles coming from the Saint-Martial parking lot. Other adjustments include the repositioning of a yield sign on Boulevard Pasteur to improve flow. Officials stated that traffic configurations are expected to remain stable until the end of the year.
