Actress Angourie Rice has addressed fan disappointment regarding her absence from the film ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. Rice, who portrayed Betty Brant in previous installments of the Tom Holland-led franchise, stated that returning to the role was not part of the story's direction.

During an interview with Perri Nemiroff, Rice suggested that her character's absence aligns with the narrative shift of Peter Parker moving into a new era of his life beyond high school. She expressed hope that her character is pursuing a meaningful career, such as ethical journalism.

Despite the absence of several returning characters, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has achieved significant commercial success, surpassing $2.33 billion at the global box office.
