Angra dos Reis invests R$15 M in sewage, drainage upgrades and new waste transfer centre

The municipality of Angra dos Reis has allocated R$15 million to upgrade infrastructure in the Morada do Bracuí neighbourhood. The plan adds a new sanitary sewer network, storm‑water drainage galleries and the paving of 16 streets, with about 7 km of PVC collection pipe, inspection wells and other components intended to serve roughly 1,500 residents and improve flood protection and road safety.

At the same time, the city opened a new Área de Transbordo e Triagem (ATT) on Rua da Mangueira in Gamboinha do Belém. The facility receives construction and demolition waste from the Grande Japuíba and central districts, aiming to curb illegal dumping, prevent blockages in drainage galleries and reduce flood risk. The ATT operates daily, including weekends and holidays, providing a dedicated drop‑off point for residents and waste collectors.
