Angresse: 16-year-old cyclist killed in vehicle collision
A 16-year-old boy from Gers died on Saturday evening after being struck by a car while cycling in Angresse, Landes. The accident occurred on the RD 133, the road connecting the commune to Soorts-Hossegor.
Emergency services, including firefighters and a Smur medical team, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the teenager, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. A 20-year-old cyclist traveling with him was also struck but sustained only minor injuries and shock.
The driver, a man in his fifties residing in the Landes region, was taken into custody by gendarmes. An investigation by the Dax company has been launched to determine the circumstances of the collision.
